One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."
The Lord is carrying us today with the heaviest hearts. We are sending Riley home today, into the arms of her Father! We know she does not belong to us, in fact none of our children do. They belong to the Lord and he is gracious enough to entrust them to us for their time on earth. Riley Faith is a beautiful baby girl who will see the face of God today! For this we rejoice!
We are all in HIS grip!!!!

There are no words I can write to console your pain, Jenny and Eric. Please know though how special Riley was to us, too even though we never met her. She stirred Christ's love within us and shared Him in unspoken ways with everyone who knew her. Psalm 126:5 says

No words can really express the sadness that is in my heart for you today as you let Riley go to be with the Lord. We are so blessed that we have God to lean on and put our faith in HIM. He has been with you every step of this journey and now will be there to comfort you and care for you.

What a lucky little girl Riley is to have a mom and dad that love her like the both of you do.

Remembering our pain and sorrow for loved ones we have lost, we understand the grief of the women at Jesus' tomb. The bewildering absence of his body and the unexpected apperance of the angel make their experience unfamiliar and frightening. Addressing their fear the angel reminds them of Jesus' promise that he would be raised from the dead. Like these followers of Jesus, we need to be reminded that Jesus is life-giving, especially when we are afraid. When we trust in Jesus, he can ease our sorrow and fear.
ReplyDeleteKnow that the short time Riley was with us she has touch our lives in ways we never could have imagined, Riley brought us together as one in God and lead us closer to his LIGHT.
Glory to God
