Riley has had a very stable weekend. After her biopsy on Friday she did very well over the weekend. Not many changes were made, the goal was to just have a quiet uneventful weekend. We should find out the results of the biopsy by Tuesday, however, the course of action will be the same. As of today she has weened off of dopamene (sp?), and calcium. She has tolerated these changes quite well. Riley is feeding well!!
On Easter Riley was visited by Mom, Dad, Madeleine, and Lily. She was completely asleep when we walked in and Lily was so loud Riley opened her eyes and looked right at us! Riley better get use to the noise, because when she comes home she will need to adapt!!!
We are praying Riley can tolerate being weened from her medications, this process will take a very long time.
In HIS grip!

ReplyDeleteSO glad to hear that you all had a nice quiet weekend with Riley. Nate was in the NICU for 12 days with pnuemonia when he was 9 days old - It doesn't compare to what you all are going through, but I do know the toll it takes - the amount of stregnth you need to have to be strong for the little one is exhausting
ReplyDelete(not to mention the rest of the family back home). As we have all witnessed, Riley is quite the fighter and we continue to pray for her recovery. Lots of love - Shelly & Justin
Good step forward! We're excited to hear that she's off some meds and doing well with that. Continued prayers that she stays stable off these and can be weaned off more soon. You guys are hangin' tough. Love you!

God is good.......
Love you guys Kimmy
Continued prayer is the only thing we can do. We are humbled by what you guys are going through. We are buoyed by your thoughts about what Easter means and your call out to all of us to remember that. This experience is guided by His grace - through all of our joys and pains He is there. Feel His presence, for He is there with you because you've brought Him in.
ReplyDeleteFrom Linda : Caleigh's concert two months ago included a song that begs the Lord for mercy. Found Psalm 61 and I think it fits: "Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my faith (sic) grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower...."
Wish I could send the video to you, but I cried my eyes out without any strife going on in my life, and I also recorded it in fast-forward mode, so you wouldn't hear it anyway! :)
Stay strong, Rules! You are backed by many here on earth, but most importantly are surrounded by the Father's light.
Peace and Love,
Chris and Linda
Riley has touched so many people, she has brought together people from near and far, people who know her and her family and people who don't know her or her family. Riley this tiny baby has brought together people who believe and pray and are not afraid to let the light of God shine. When the light shines it reflects not only the wonder of God, but also the greatness of the spirit within us.
